1. How long have you been self harming? Discuss why you started.

I have been self harming since like 5th grade. I don’t know what year that is, but it leaves me with about 5 years up until now. I don’t know why i started me and Amanda were just sitting outside at recess and we found some nails…

Omg :( I think I’m going to cry… You may think that nobody cares about you, but trust me Spencer! A lot of people do! You’re not fat. You’re not ugly. You are AMAZING. And I’m not just saying that. Sure, some people may make fun of you? But who doesn’t get made fun of from time to time. The thing is, if you want to look “perfect”, please go look in the mirror. You are already perfect in soooo many ways. But if you do want to drop a few pounds, the go on a diet. I’m doing it, because I am self conscious about the way that I look. And your mom isn’t going to get mad… Just go tell her that you don’t like your weight and that you wish to go on a diet and that you would like her to be supportive in it. Cutting yourself…can really hurt you. In both physical and mental ways. But, I bet you already know that. I’m not saying to stop doing it, because nobody wants to be told to stop. But, I am encouraging it. Sweetie, if you died….tons of people would be in mourning. You are beautiful!!!!!!! And if you are comparing yourself to the girls in the magazines, then there is no way that you are going to look like that. There is no way that them, themselves are going to look like that. Most of those girls get their picture taken, then the photographer messes with the picture to make them look “perfect”. Trust me, my big sister was a model and they did that to ALL of the girls pictures. I really wish you would see how special you are :( I don’t know if you believe in God, but He is there. And He will be there to listen to you 24/7 , even when you think nobody cares. He loves you no matter what. And it kills Him to see you hurting yourself just to “get away”. Well, you aren’t really getting away…your staying in the same place. No matter how much you hurt yourself, all your doing it making it worse. See, I used to be bulimic and I used to burn myself because I wanted to be skinny and I wanted all my fears and all my stress to just go away. But it did NOTHING. What it did, was give my scars that I look at all the time and I thank God that He guided me out of that horrible situation. But you see….you could use this experience in a good way. Now, you know what others are going though, and you know how it feels. Therefore, you have the knowledge to help other people through it. Sweetie….you could do amazing things with all of this, but only if you choose to pick yourself up and live your life to the fullest. And can I just say something? You know Marilyn Monroe, right? Well she was a size 12. And she was considered the most beautiful woman in that world. Until, she got into drugs and let society bring her down to the same level as everyone else. Your awesome, Spencer. But you let society bring you down. Don’t let jerks get to you.. I love you! And I hope you read all this because I really do hope that you take it to heart..
